You should float the Guadalupe with me and my friends in a couple weeks.

Didnt seem that bad to me when I went a week ago. Plus, you can get accustomed easily with some cold beverages.

I went last year for the first time and there were tons of people with pimped out floats. They even had some floats with coolers and cup holders that were above the water. My initial thought at the access point was to throw my float in the water and try to dive through the hole, and when I did it, it felt like I was stabbed in the face. I didn't expect it to be so damn cold lol and it was on a hot ass day in mid august that i went.

Chuck what would you put the water temp at vs the air temp at?

Where I normally go to the beach in South Carolina it's a really nice difference. Only like 10-15 degrees. So it'll be 90 degrees out, get in the water and its a nice 75. It's like going from outside to a nice AC'd house. A lot of other places I've gone to I'll be expecting this same temperature difference and get in and freeze my ass off. Especially beaches in MD.

The water is usually between 65-70 degrees, so it may seem cold to some, but when you put the outside temperatures around 90-100+, it feels damn good.

Also, Saracon, jumping on in head first without testing that first is a huge fault on your part. Hell, its so shallow for most parts that youre lucky you just got hit with the coolness of the water, and not hit a rock or anything.

The pimped out floats and things like that is what makes the trips great. Thats why Im putting together my badass waterproof cooler stereo. Hopefully, Ill have all the parts by Monday, so I can have this thing put together by the next weekend. Its going to be a badass time.

Where I jumped, you literally see straight down into the water, it must have been at least 12 ft deep. Besides that, I don't remember any rocks. It was pretty deep the whole way until you got towards the end of it. There were even a couple people jumping off of a patio that stood about 10 feet above the water and were flipping into the river.

Now that I think of it, I remember ditching the Guadalupe, I just can't remember the name of the other river I went to but it was walking distance to schlitterbahn. There was literally only a worn down fence seperating the two, I thought about crossing several times.

I prefer metaphorically seeing into the river myself.
